Rotherham United's top scorer so far this season, Adam Le Fondre says the team were 'bitterly disappointed' after the draw at the weekend against Burton Albion.
The Millers seemed to be coasting at two-nil, both goals from Alfie, but Albion ended up taking a point back with them.
'We had a two-nil lead and threw it away,' the ex Stockport and Rochdale striker told Dom Howson of The Star. 'In the fifteen minutes after half-time we had a lot of opportunities.'
Asked about Nick Fenton's rash challenge which resulted in a red card, Alfie said, 'It wasn't the best of tackles and the sending off changed the game. But we've got to defend better as a team and see the game out.'
The two goals on Saturday takes Alfie to top of the League Two scoring charts with fourteen league goals. Lee Hughes, of Notts County, is second.
