RUFC - Millers found new home?

Rotherham United should know today if their bid to secure a piece of land to build the new stadium on has been successful.

Chairman, Tony Stewart had, what he called, a good, long meeting, on Monday regarding the twelve acre brownfield site and he told David Beddows of The Advertiser that an offer was presented to the managing director.

'Fingers crossed that it will be accepted,' Mr Stewart said. 'Then we can get on with the next stage of building a new home for Rotherham United.

'I have spent thousands of pounds to ensure this land is fit for the purpose. A lot of preparatory work still needs to be done but I am confident, if things go to plan, we could be in the new stadium in the early part of 2012.'
