RUFC - Moore hopeful Boxing Day game will happen

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore told the Official Site that he is hopeful the game against Darlington at Don Valley on Boxing Day will go ahead.

'I haven't seen the pitch,' Moore admits, 'but I do speak to our head groundsman, Jim, everyday and we are hoping the pitch will thaw out in time for the game.

'Jim knows what he is doing with the pitch but he can't do anything about the weather. Along with his staff and the Don Valley staff, Jim has worked hard to get the pitch playable.

'Although there was only one game on last weekend and it didn't really hurt us. we don't want to be falling behind with matches.

'Of course, the weather makes training difficult as well. The grass pitches are rock hard and the astroturf pitches are slippy and it has been hard for the players to maintain the required fitness level.'
