RUFC - Chairman is still positive

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart is still positive that he can secure the land he wants for the new stadium despite knock-backs over talks this week.

After saying on Radio Sheffield that he hoped to announce something about the ground last Tuesday, Tuesday came and went leaving us fans a little bit disillusioned.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Mr Stewart said, 'We'll pick up the negotiations in the first week of January.

'I am still positive and we are near a conclusion.'

Speculation about where the ground will be has been rife on message boards over the last few months with most people expecting it to be the Guest and Chrimes site, which is but a stones throw away from Millmoor.

The club has promised that wherever the ground is it will have first class facilities for the disabled, with Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas saying, 'At the new ground we will make sure we meet the requirements of disabled supporters.'
