'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Alfie wants a smile on his face tomorrow

Rotherham United striker, Adam Le Fondre is looking forward to going back to his former club, Rochdale tomorrow, and hopes it's him coming away with a smile on his face and not the friends he still has there.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the Millers' top scorer said he has spoken recently to Chris Dagnall at Rochdale as well as Jason Taylor, who is with them on loan from Rotherham. 'I speak to quite a few of them at Rochdale,' Alfie said, 'some are good mates. They are on a great roll at the minute but hopefully we can break that. I spoke to Adam Rundle who thinks he will be in the squad though won't necessarily start.

'I'm not surprised how well Rochdale are doing. They have got a good squad and are passing people do death.

'It's going to be a good game, first verses third and we're champing at the bit to play because we've not played for three weeks.

'We need to beat them to stop them creating such a big gap at the top of the league and then we have to use our games in hand.

'I'd like to score but the result is the most important thing.'

Speaking about the 'rest' forced upon the team because of postponed games, the twenty-three year old said, 'At first the rest was welcome but we're sick of that now and we want to play. You can only do so much training and it's playing games that gets you sharper. We had a practice match on Tuesday which went OK for us.'

I don't know, Mex. They played the same team that will start at Rochdale tomorrow and no one seems to want to tell us who that was!
