'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Tonge feels as fit as a fiddle!

Rotherham United defender, Dale Tonge says he is as fit as fiddle after being out of action since November with an ankle injury.

The former Barnsley midfielder told the Official Site that he is almost ready for a first team re-call even though the team have been training in awkward conditions recently due to the adverse weather.

'It's been hard training on the astro-turf,' the twenty-four year old said, 'but I've had some good sessions and feel as fit as a fiddle.'

Due to the weather the Millers haven't played since their win over Bradford on 12th December, and today's game at Rochdale has been called off for safety reasons.

'Despite not having a game, we've stayed third. We've just got to get a few wins and we'll be closing in on second.'

Dale has set himself a target for 2010 which is to score a goal! - which is something he didn't achieve last year!

'That's just on a personal level,' he said, 'but the main aim is for the club to make it into the top three at the end of the season.'

Dale signed for the Millers in May 2007 and signed a new two year deal last summer. He has made over one hundred appearances in league and cup competitions.
