'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Alfie praises Chairman

Rotherham United`s top scorer, Adam Le Fondre praises Chairman Tony Stewart saying, 'He is very ambitious.`

In an interview with Chris Burton for SkySports.com, Alfie said, 'The Chairman has shown what he wants to do and he`s not going to let anyone stand in his way to get there. I can`t speak highly enough of him. He wants everything in place - a new ground and training ground and he wants the club to be a success. He obviously wants to be part of that and it`s one of the reasons I signed because I want to be part of it as well.`

Speaking about leaving Rochdale, Alfie says, 'I left Rochdale with a heavy heart but I thought, the way Mark Robins sold the club to me as a team, it was better for my career to move here. I wanted to go somewhere where I was going to be number one striker and play week in and week out. It`s proved to be a good decision because I have been playing regularly. My league form has been quality and we`ve been playing well as a club, so it`s been great.

Speaking about the season so far, the twenty-three year old striker said, 'We started very well. Then the management team left and Ronnie Moore was brought in and he is more than capable of completing the job.

'It`s only five or six years ago that we were in the Championship and I hope I can play a part of the journey back there with them. I`m a very ambitious player and I want to play at the highest level and I hope that`s with Rotherham.`

With the Millers having had their last four games postponed due to the weather, Alfie said, 'It 's frustrating but there is nothing the players can do about it so we have to just remain professional, keep on training and take every game as it comes.`
