RUFC - Moore wants players to come out fighting
Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore told Les Payne of The Star that, when the Millers finally get to play a game, they have to be ready to get going again.
'We have to be ready from this spell of inactivity,' Moore said, 'and we have to get straight out of the blocks and get going again.'
Speaking about the fact that the Millers haven't played since 12th December yet are still third in League Two, Moore said, 'Who would have thought that we'd go all this time without a game and no one would overtake us. Dagenham had two chances and didn't take them and Chesterfield could have gone above us but they missed out as well. Shrewsbury have closed up behind us but have played four games more than we have.
'Saying that, I'd still have preferred to have played and been like Rochdale and had the points in the bag.'
Talking about his players he said, ''We have to be careful not to overdo it on the astroturf and it's not the same as playing on grass. They're a good honest bunch and have been working hard. They are fit but, of course, it's not the same as match fitness.'
