RUFC - Chairman 'a statement to the fans'
Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart says that turning down an offer for midfielder/winger, Nicky Law from Blackpool is a 'statement to the fans.'
As Vital Rotherham reported on Friday, the Championship side put in a bid for the twenty-one year old, reported to be £150,000, although it is thought it was actually higher than that.
Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Mr Stewart said, 'It's a statement to the fans, and also says to the players, that we want you to take this club forward and that your ambitions and goals can be achieved with us.
'We are not in the market to sell our leading players. Our intention is to keep them and push for promotion.'
Law joined the Millers from Sheffield United last summer, after being on loan with Bradford City for most of last season.
