Will Knill Turn To The Youth?

The Millers this week survived the financial crisis which threatened the future of the club after creditors agreed to the Company Voluntary Agreement the Millers were seeking.

As we are set to be handed a 10-point deduction next season, but we could have faced liquidation if the agreement had not been reached.

With Andy Monkhouse, Phil Gilchrist and Scott Minto have been released,but new deals are to be given to Shaun Barker, Martin Butler, Will Hoskins, Paul Hurst, Paul McLaren, John Mullin and Paul Shaw.

Knill said: 'I'm encouraged by the kids we've got coming through and we reckon about four or five will be ready to make the step up real soon'

'We obviously need to sign players before next season, and we've got a couple of irons in the fire already.'


Whats your view? Will Hoskins was a top youth player, but we have only seen him used in part games, mainly as substitute.

It's a tough ask though, that would mean a top half finish in theory to be safe because of the points deduction. Very tough ask considering your fight against relegation this season. You looked like a good side when you beat us though, definately didn't look like one who were close to going down.

It will be tough but we will have the confidence to do it. Has anybody seen any of the young players and do you rate them?

I think the team underperformed this season,given some decent signings,one being chesnie,I think we can surprise one or two

" hoskins should be in the team next season in place of butler , who should not be offered a new contract thus saving a fortune on wages . not too sure about the others as i haven't seen enough of them , but if they are good enough get them in "

I should imagine that you will rely on youth. So... get behind them and all fight for the cause, and who knows? You could suprise a few people.
