RUFC - League Crowds Rise

Rotherham United are among the clubs that have seen a rise in league attendances since last season.

The Football League Official Site says that more than 8.6m fans have attended Football League games in the last five months which, they say, is a 3% rise on the first five months of last season.

Lord Mawhinney, the Football League Chairman said, 'It is very encouraging to see more and more supporters going through the turnstiles at Football League grounds.

'The dedication they are showing towards their clubs, despite the economic climate, underlines the strength of the domestic game.'

The Millers themselves have seen a rise in their crowds of 10.9% which is the fourth highest increase in League Two.
