'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Why was Ronnie in the stands on Saturday?

Rotherham United fans are used to hearing rumours, some listen then dismiss while others listen and nod wisely. And, there were rumours going around Don Valley on Saturday when Manager, Ronnie Moore wasn't sat on the bench during the game, but was sat in the stands. So, just why was the Millers Manager in the stands?

Speaking to The Star today, Moore said, 'I've always been a dug-out man. This was the first time I'd volunteered to go and 'sit upstairs'. I remember having a touchline ban when we were in the Championship and having to sit in the stands for three games. Mind you, on Saturday, I had intended going back down on the line in the second half but, as we were winning two-nil, superstition got the better of me, and I thought I'd leave well alone. Had I gone down there and they'd pulled it back to two-two, I don't know what I'd have done.

'You do get a better all round view of the game from the stands and I'd got a phone so was in contact with Jimmy Mullen. And I think you're much calmer up there and I'm thinking it might not be a bad thing to sit in the stand and see things from a different perspective.

'I might go up in the stands at Saltergate and see how it goes, although I think the seating is a bit tighter there than at Don Valley so it might not do my old knees any good!

'To be honest, if it means things are going right, I hope I'm in the stands until the end of the season.'
