RUFC - 'dome shaped and eco friendly'

Rotherham United's new stadium is going to be a rectangular dome design with no open corners - which, I think, is one of the things all fans said they didn't want.

'The corners will be filled to boost the atmosphere,' Chairman, Tony Stewart told David Beddows of The Advertiser. 'It will also keep out the draught and create a comfortable environment - the sort family with kids will want to come to.

'The seats will be spacious and there will be plenty of leg room and the disabled area will have easy access and be on the top level of the ground.

'There will be undersoil heating and, subject to planning approval, modern LED lighting. You can do clever things with lighting these days and I will be using my expertise in that level to utilise colour affects to the full.

'Many will be pleased to hear that the new stadium is going to be eco friendly. Heating and lighting will be designed to reduce the carbon footprint and we'll be utilising re-cycled water.

'Rotherham Borough Council have been an important part of this scheme and with their help we are providing a stadium our town and community will be proud of.'

All sounds like just what the doctor ordered to me!
