'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Cummins wants goals

Rotherham United midfielder, Micky Cummins says he is glad to be getting first team football again.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the thirty-one year old former Middlesbrough trainee said, 'It's been a long time coming. I picked up a couple of niggling injuries in pre-season but, touch wood, since the New Year I've been fine. I've had a little run in the team and I think I've played well and it's good to get ninety minutes under your belt.

'We've done a lot of fitness work over the six week break and I've got stronger. I've worked a lot on my weights and leg weights and I feel a lot better for it.

'I'd like to get some goals. Against Grimsby I was involved in both goals for Alfie and it's nice to be involved. Over the years I've scored quite a few goals with my head and I'm quite decent in the air. I never seem to get marked by a six footer.'

Asked about how he's gone on playing with Gary Roberts, Cummins said, 'He's a good player and we've got a good understanding over a short period of time. Although, we have been training a lot together. He's got an eye for the long pass and he puts a good shift in.'

Talking about himself, Micky went on to say, 'I'm thirty-two this summer and I'm not getting any younger. But I look after myself and I'm playing for a new contract, which will hopefully here.'
