RUFC - Injury Update

Rotherham United physio, Denis Circuit, gave MillersPlayer an update on the injury situation.

Paul Warne - Paul is coming on nicely even though he can`t do any running yet. He`s keeping himself fit by doing lots of swimming and we`ve got to wait perhaps another two to three weeks and have a further examination. The consultant thought at first the injury would have healed in six or seven weeks but unfortunately that wasn`t the case and it looks like it will be three months. It`s something we can`t rush and we are just waiting for nature to take its course. This week he`s starting taking his protective covering off on alternate days and the good news is that the aches and pains have disappeared when he`s walking without the protection.

Andy Liddell - Andy is training but the problem is with the weather he`s not done as much training as he should have done and he`s not been able to train today because we are on the Astroturf again. With the Astroturf being frozen as well, it`s just too risky for him to train on it so it`s another gym day for him. He`s very frustrated at the moment but the good thing is when he has trained, he`s totally pain free. We are trying to work on his fitness and his football fitness and you can do as much as you like in the gym but he really needs to be on grass.

Dale Tonge - Dale`s fine. He`s naturally quite fit and he`s done a lot of work over the last few weeks and kept his fitness going in the gym and pool. He`s coming on great and when he came off the bench the other night he looked sharp. If the boss needs him, fitness wise, he`s ready.

Jamie Annerson - Jamie took a bang in the face and we went to see the doctor on Monday morning and he`s got to have a weeks complete rest, doing nothing. If he keeps improving the plan is to have him in next Monday and start light training with him which he can do with Andy Dibble. But, at the moment we are assessing him every couple of days.
