'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - What's happening with the training ground?

Rotherham United had a provisional lease approved to build a state-of-the-art training ground at playing fields on Roughwood Road in Rotherham in May last year.

It`s now some nine months later and I was wondering what is happening regarding this land? I know, at the time, there were complaints from local football teams who already played on the land and nearby houses.

I know planning permission takes time but we don`t seem to have heard much about this since the initial news that land had been found.

Personally, I think it`s a shame that the training ground can`t be next to the new stadium and keep it all together, but I do realise there probably isn`t enough room at the Guest and Chrimes site.

So, just how far have we come with the training ground? Have plans been submitted? Is everything going through? Anyone got any ideas?

Don't know how true this is, but I've heard that planning permission has not been approved so it's a start again point. They could put an offer in for the old training centre, of course that's something to think about!
