RUFC - Cummins 'Promotion is there for the taking'

Rotherham United midfielder, Micky Cummins says that League Two is made up of teams of individuals and that there are no quality teams.

'Promotion is there for us to take and if we throw it away we can only look at ourselves,' the former Port Vale player told The Advertiser.

'There's a lot of teams that were part-time four or five years ago coming into the league and a lot of the better players keep getting plucked out. And teams in this league haven't a lot to spend so are taking a punt on players from non-league teams.'

Micky, who joined the Millers in May 2008 from Darlington, started on Monday because of a suspension to Gary Roberts.

'I played seventy-five minutes on Monday,' he said, 'and I was maybe a bit leggy towards the end because of a lack of games. I hope to be involved tomorrow at Burton.'

Micky said he felt tired and was pleased that the team were given Tuesday and Wednesday off saying, 'We've had two days off but you still have to do the right things. You have to eat right, drink right and get the legs up,' adding, 'while the wives look after the kids!'

(Yes, right, Micky!!!)
