'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Josh Walker on joining the Millers

Rotherham United`s latest loan signing, Josh Walker managed one training session on Friday before he was pushed into the deep end, so to speak, by being included in the first eleven on Saturday afternoon at Burton.

Newcastle born Josh is a central midfielder, a product of Middlesbrough`s Youth Academy who has joined the Millers, initially, on a month`s loan.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the, just, twenty-one year old, who impressed on his Millers debut, said, 'They seem a great bunch of lads here and I`d like to be here to get into the Play-Off Final if we can, though I will take each game as it comes.

'I know the league quite well because I`ve been on loan at Northampton, although that was cut short because I dislocated my shoulder, but it`s a fast and hectic league.

'I had a couple of opportunities to go to other clubs but the position that Rotherham are in the league and things that could come further in the season, I thought this was an opportunity too good to turn down. Also the situation at Middlesbrough, in and out of the squad and playing now and again, wasn`t for me because I like to play regularly. And I want to show the Rotherham fans, and people at Middlesbrough who maybe have doubts, what I can do. And I`m grateful to the manager (Ronnie Moore) for giving me the opportunity and hopefully I can repay him and repay him well, in fact, he was one of the reasons I came. I`d not had dealings with him before but a lad at Middlesbrough had been to Tranmere on loan last season where he was and had nothing but praise for him.

'I can play in other positions but I am primarily a centre-midfielder. I will always give one hundred per cent and try and get on the ball as much as I can and I love playing football.`
