'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC 'Alfie needs help'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore says that there is too much pressure on Adam Le Fondre as he steps up his bid to bring in another striker.

It looked like Moore had found his man, James Scowcroft but it seems that, at the final minute, Leyton Orient didn't want him to leave.

Moore is now turning his attention to Richard Offiong of Carlisle.

Speaking to Paul Rickett of The Advertiser, Moore said, 'You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a striker. There are one or two we are looking at. We missed out on Scowcroft at the last minute but there are a couple of others we are talking too, one being Offiong. He's a six-footer and he's quick but he can't get into the Carlise side at the moment.

'We'll try and sort something out before the Bradford game and if that doesn't work out we'll turn our attention elsewhere.

'There's too much pressure on Alfie scoring goals and you can't have that at a club. It's difficult when Alfie isn't on or things don't go well. If we don't have an outlet then we're in trouble.

'I think we've got the character but what we haven't got is someone who can get hold of the game in midfield so we'll also be looking to put that right.'

I presume Ronnie meant a six footer as in height and not that he's actually got six feet - mind you. . . .
