'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Offiong deal 'dead in the water'

Rotherham United will not be signing striker Richard Offiong from Carlisle.

As we said on our messageboard yesterday, the deal was 'dead in the water' and Carlisle Manager, Greg Abbott has told the BBC the same thing.

Once again the deal seems to have fallen through at the last hurdle with Abbott saying, 'It's quite timely because we are having a few problems with injuries to strikers at the moment.'

Twenty-five year old Offiong did not travel with Carlisle to Wycombe at the weekend as he was set to seal a deal for a months' loan with the Millers but no-one is saying why this didn't happen.

'It's between Ronnie and me,' Abbott said, 'and we have to leave it at that to protect everyone and make sure things don't get misconstrued.'
