'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Alfie 'it's my job to score'

Rotherham United's top scorer, Adam Le Fondre says he 'doesn't feel the pressure.'

Speaking to The Advertiser, the striker said, 'I don't feel the pressure because it's my job to score goals. For me, it's not pressure it's enjoyment.

'People talk about the pitch at Don Valley but I'm not fussed. I'll play on anything as long as it's got a goal to score in.

'Bad bouncers don't bother me either because it can work for me that defenders lose their footing and someone who is as sharp and nimble as me can get in and take advantage.'

After scoring another penalty on Saturday against Bradford, Alfie said, 'I'm really confident from twelve yards and I think I'll always score - except if it's Darlington!'

Manager, Ronnie Moore has said, since his arrival, that he thinks there is too much emphasis on Alfie to score and the other players should be contributing too but the twenty-three year old said, 'I like scoring goals and personally I'd rather keep them all to myself than share them. And, the goal we scored at Burton the other week was mine, even though everyone was trying to take it off me!

'I admit that my all-round game needs improvement and, like the gaffer says, I'm not beyond criticism. I need to improve outside the box, but, I think, that will come in time.'
