Rotherham United loanee, Marcus Marshall impressed with his first start for the club on Saturday at Dagenham and it was his cross that led to the goal.
Speaking to MillersPlayer the twenty-year old on loan from Blackburn said, 'I`m glad I got my first start and I`m looking forward to more.
'Before the game, the gaffer said, that I had to use my pace, get about and not to be scared to run at people. Marc Joseph was very influential on my game, telling me where to be and where not to be.`
Asked about the goal, Marcus admitted that he was originally going to shield the ball out for a corner and said, 'But I saw their player trying to hook it so I hooked it in and Fenners (Nick Fenton) had a swipe at it and Alfie`s (Adam Le Fondre) finished it. The thing it with Alfie you know he`s going to be there, hungry for a goal and we have to just put it in there for him. He was quite modest today, saying he had a quiet game, but he got us the goal didn`t he and that`s his job.
'It was a difficult game and at the end we had to sit back a bit and weather the storm.`
