RUFC - Reserves Lose

Rotherham Reserves 2 v Leeds Reserves 4

Rotherham had quite a young team out this evening for the Reserve game against Leeds at Don Valley.

Jamie Annerson, in the Millers goal, was soon called upon when he did well to save from James Baxendale with his legs while, at the other end, Drewe Broughton put the ball just wide from an Austin free kick. Baxendale was soon in the action again and on twenty-three minutes was put through by Sanchez Watt, on loan from Arsenal, and he put the ball past Annerson. Only a minute later the visitors doubled their lead although Annerson did well to keep out the initial shot from Watt the ball fell to Baxendale who put the ball into the net.

Stephen Brogan pulled a goal back at the beginning of the second half but, almost immediately Leeds got a free kick which Lubor Michalik slammed into the back of the net. Baxendale and Watt had further chances for Leeds but the Millers' defence managed to keep them out. But, their pressure did pay off on the sixtieth minute when Watt slid in a low cross which Ben Parker got on the end of to make it four-one. Austin did well later on but his shot was put out for a corner which fell to Parr-Gallagher and he slammed the ball in from twenty yards out.
