'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Drewe doesn't fancy the play-offs

Rotherham United striker, Drewe Broughton is hoping to clinch third place in League Two and not have to go up via the play-offs at the end of the season.

Speaking to The Yorkshire Evening Post, the much travelled thirty-one year old said, 'It would be sickening to be in the play-offs after being so good for most of this season.'

Broughton, who joined the Millers from MK Dons in the summer of 2008, has recently been out of favour and has spent a month with Lincoln City on loan. Many fans, me included, thought that it would be 'goodbye' to Drewe but, after his month was up, he came back and has featured in the Millers' last four games, albeit from the subs bench.

'It's all about character at this time of the season,' Drewe said. 'You need to be big and bold and grind away. And, you need to graft out the wins at the end of the season when the pitches aren't so clever. But, I do think it will go to the last game of the season.'

Speaking about his time at Lincoln, Drewe says he was lucky to have played under their Manager, Chris Sutton. 'He understands my role inside out. He really played to my strengths there and I got my form going and my fitness was good.

'I'd missed pre-season with injury and was out for the first weeks of the season too. I'd lost the momentum and Lincoln was a chance to go and play some games and I enjoyed my time there.'

Asked about his future, the tall striker said, 'You never know what's around the corner. I've enjoyed my time at Rotherham and the dressing room is good but, in my experience, you just cannot say what will happen.'
