RUFC - Moore on Gary Roberts' sacking

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has told Radio Sheffield that 'enough is enough' regarding Gary Roberts.

Speaking out about why the club have sacked the twenty-three year old, Moore said, 'He has had his contract terminated for a serious breach of the clubs code of conduct.

'It's not only once but on several occasions that this has happened and enough is enough. He's a talented player but, at the end of the day, we can't have him disrupting the dressing room and the Chairman, and myself, made the decision that this was the road we had to go down.

'It's been well documented what Gary's problems have been and we've bent over backwards to help him. He had until the end of the season and another year and unfortunately, he's just gone that one step too far. To be fair to him, he was full of remorse when he left and was sorry that he'd let everybody down.'

'I'm bitterly disappointed because the boy has talent and his passing ability is absolutely brilliant. And, I'm the fall guy in all this because I took the gamble with him. And, to be fair, because of his ability, I've let it go on a couple of occasions. But, because it's gone on and on and on, I've had to nip it in the bud.

Moore was asked about the changing room and he said, 'I don't think there will be a problem in there. If anything any problems caused would have been with what's been going on with Gary Roberts and I don't think there will be too many people in there who will be too sorry to see him go.'

Moore refused to say what the breach of club conduct was but said, 'He over stepped the mark and if anyone over steps the mark in football the outcome is that he will be sacked.`
