'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ellison 'I feel for the fans'

Rotherham United midfielder, Kevin Ellison battled in the win over Northampton on Tuesday night and afterwards said, 'You've got to roll your sleeves up, dig in and get results.'

The former Stockport County player was sent on from the bench at Morecambe just as the home side had gone two up and speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, he said, 'No disrespect, but I don't think the lads recognised what they were going into at Morecambe. I've played against them a few times in the last few seasons and they're a big, strong, ugly team and you have to expect a battle, especially at this stage of the season.

'I feel for the fans, the away support has been brilliant all season. To see a performance like that on Saturday is not acceptable and they have a right to their opinion.

'The vocal backing doesn't just come automatically, you've got to earn it.

'It's tight at the top and we've got to win all our games now. There's going to be no nice football. You've got to win ugly and we've not been doing that.'
