'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore excited

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has admitted that this time of the season excites him.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, 'For a manager and a player there is nothing better than this.

'I had it last year at Tranmere. On the last game of the season we had to go to Scunny and win to get into the play-offs. We were one up and on the ninety-third minute they score, we end up drawing and we don't make it. But that's what football's like.

'In our twenty-six man squad I think there are four players that's had promotion. It's not easy so when the opportunity's there don't waste it. Two sides out of that top eight are going to Wembley, it's as simple as that. So, if we can't grab the third spot, why not us? If you could guarantee it then it's the best way of doing it but I'd still take third spot tomorrow if it was handed to me.'

Talking about tomorrow's opponents, Cheltenham Town, Moore said, 'They are in a decent bit of form - they beat Bury five-two and drew at Shrewsbury. They are a compact side who are tight and strong. They will be a constant threat up front and it's how we defend and we need to defend from the front like we did on Tuesday night. If anyone thinks that we just have to turn up and win it, well it doesn't happen. Cheltenham are fighting for their lives.'
