RUFC - Moore 'Maybe Walker shouldn't have played'
Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has revealed that midfielder, Josh Walker was carrying a knock and admitted to Les Payne of The Star that maybe 'he shouldn't have played.'
The twenty-one year old was substituted on fifty-five minutes on Saturday against Crewe after having a 'quiet game' and Moore said, 'He'd got an ankle injury but wanted to play and help out the team. Which is a good attitude to have but his ankle is sore.'
Walker has trained so far this week and Moore, after saying he is going to 'rest' some of the players for the game at Hereford on Saturday ahead of the play-offs, is undecided whether to rest the Middlesbrough loanee.
To be honest, yes, good on the lad for wanting to play, but after twenty minutes you could see he was either having a poor game or that he was, as we now know, injured. It could have gone horribly wrong had he made a bad mistake and let Crewe in which ended in a goal - so surely, it's the manager's call to say if he thinks he's fit enough to play or not?
