'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Chairman Proud of association with Millers

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart thought that not only the players, but that the fans too were 'magnificent' at Aldershot on Saturday.

Speaking to the Official Site, Mr Stewart said, 'I am so proud to be representing Rotherham United Football Club and I take that pride with me everywhere I go.

'Wednesday night will provide us all with an opportunity that this club and town hasn't had for a long time.

'But, we are under no illusion that there is a long way to go and that we are just at the half-way stages with our noses slightly in front.'

Mr Stewart also said that the Aldershot Official Match Day Programme said that Don Valley Stadium was not the most intimidating of venues and he said, 'I think that sets down a challenge to all of us.

'I don't think we've had a fair representation in the national media lately of what is happening at Rotherham United. But, if this creates a siege mentality amongst us and unites everyone involved with the football club then it can only make us stronger.'

Once again, Mr Stewart, has put out a plea for everyone to wear their red and white on Wednesday night, saying, 'There are still a lot of Rotherham United Supporters, for one reason and another, who have not been to Don Valley and this is a direct plea to each and everyone of them to come on Wednesday night and get behind your team. This is a great opportunity to show everyone what Rotherham United are all about.
