'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Sharps 'delighted'

Rotherham United skipper, Ian Sharps said they got what they set out to get ten days ago tonight. And, that of course, is a place in the League Two Play-Off Final at Wembley.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, after beating Aldershot two-nil at Don Valley this evening, Sharps said, 'As a back four I think we've played well all season. There's been a few slip-ups but every team has them and we were delighted with how we played tonight.

'I was gutted I didn't score though when it hit the bar I thought it might go in, but the 'little rat' (Adam Le Fondre!) knows where to stand when the balls around!

'The countdown's on to Wembley and it's something you dream of and I think you could tell tonight that we wanted it more.

'I think we won every tackle and every header and the game in general was ours to win tonight.'

When asked if leading the Millers out at Wembley would be his career highlight he said, 'Leading them up the steps when we've won it will be my career highlight. Wembley isn't a place to lose at.

'It was great to see all the fans there tonight, I looked up before the game and they were even sitting on the steps. I just hope they all enjoy a day out at Wembley.'
