'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Stewart 'Make some noise at Wembley'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart wants fans to get to Wembley in their numbers.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Mr Stewart said, 'Let's rise to the occassion and create some volume.'

Going to Wembley could get Rotherham United a cash bonus of between £400,000 and £500,000 - winning could make it almost one million pounds with funding from the Football League and TV increasing.

Paul Douglas Chief Operating Officer said, 'We've done alright from the play-offs already because the income is split equally between the four semi-finalists.

'The Football League take fifty per cent of the net icome from the final and the rest will be split between the two clubs.

'League One is a more lucrative division to be in but that has to be balanced against increased salaries for players.

'Wembley itself is a good pay day for us and we want as many people as possible to get down there and support us.'

Mr Stewart said, 'Financially, it's tremendous for us but let's embrace what we have achieved in getting to Wembley. The work the players have put in has been incredible and now the chance is there for us to take.'
