'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Warney 'crowd were up for it'

Rotherham United midfielder, cum Jack-of-all-trades, Paul Warne said he thought the crowd were up for it after the game on Wednesday night that booked the Millers a trip to Wembley.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the thirty-seven year old said, 'It started well because when we came out the crowd all held up the red and white placards and it was a great atmosphere.

'I thought we started really well, then it went a little bit nervy, and they had a good run at it, and luckily, we got a goal just before half-time. It was a crucial time to score but at two up you still haven't won.

'I thought we controlled the game quite well in the second half and to keep a clean sheet again is a great result. I thought the lads defended really well and Fenners (Nick Fenton), Sharps and Woggy (Andy Warrington), at the back, were good again tonight.'

With a cheeky grin, Warney carried on, 'There was seven or eight thousand there tonight it was obviously the biggest roar when I came on the pitch, which is always nice!'

Speaking about going to Wembley, Warney said, 'It means a lot and it's great for my son to see me at Wembley.'
