'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Woggy sorry for fans

Rotherham United goalkeeper, Andy Warrington, told Les Payne of The Star that, after the three-two defeat to Dagenham and Redbridge at Wembley yesterday, the dressing room was like 'a morgue.'

'This is the worst moment in football that I've ever had,' a tearful Warrington said. 'The saves I pulled off in the first half mean nothing. You see the Dagenham lads collect the trophy at the end and it is really, really upsetting.'

Speaking about the thousands of Millers fans who travelled to Wembley, Warrington said, 'They were fantastic. I think sometimes when you get losing finalists, half of the stadium is gone within five minutes of the final whistle but they all stayed and clapped us which was magnificent. Words can't explain what it means to the players to see that. They have backed us all the way and we are really sorry that it meant a long journey back up the M1 for them.'
