'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Chairman had tear in his eye

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart says that Sunday, at Wembley, was an emotional rollercoaster for him.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Mr Stewart said, 'When I looked over to see the sea of red and white, close on twenty thousand or our supporters at Wembley Stadium, I had a tear in my eye.

'There were many supporters at Wembley who hadn't been to a Rotherham United home match for some time and I hope this has re-ignited their interest and they will consider joining us at Don Valley next season.

'The match was end-to-end and could have gone either way but unfortunately we conceded three goals which left us with just that little bit too much to do.

'The whole experience has made me more determined that we, together, succeed in our aims and aspirations both on and off the pitch.

'Our pledge to all supporters is that we will continue to work at everything we do and give one hundred per cent in all areas of this club.

'Our season ticket holders are the rock of this club and we would love to increase our season ticket holder base. The more we can attract the better platform we have to work on increasing attendances next season.

'At the club we will be in it day in and day out for the next two months getting everything ready for the 2010/11 season.

'I feel the unity between the club and the supporters is getting much, much stronger and we are an honest bunch who put a shift in and want what you want - success.'

The Chairman thanks the fans for their great support and ends by saying Up The Millers.
