'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Coakley delighted with commercial figures

Rotherham United's Commercial income showed a twenty per cent increase last season and Commercial Director, Steve Coakley is 'delighted.'

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Coakley said, 'We are delighted with the advances that have been made and the figures produced this season.

'In terms of sponsorship, advertising and hospitality we were up around fifteen per cent and around twenty per cent overall.

'We'll be aiming for the same sort of improvement next season.'

Since joining Rotherham United from Sheffield Wednesday, Steve says he that there are some good people at the club who have ambition and a work ethic.

'I'm not motivated by having a big club on my CV and not achieving anything,' Steve said, 'but by getting stuck in, getting my hands dirty and being part of something that is going to make a difference and that certainly will happen when the new stadium happens.'

Steve also thanked the sponsors saying, 'We have had excellent support from our major sponsors - Parkgate Shopping, Perry's Motor Group, Sports Identity - and this has enabled us to do things to move forward.'
