'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Striker not fit yet

Rotherham United striker, Tom Pope, is still around a month away from fitness, his manager, Ronnie Moore told the Official Site after yesterday's first day back following the summer break.

While the rest of the squad were put through their paces yesterday, the twenty-four year old former Crewe player had to sit it out.

'Popey isn't that close to playing at the moment,' Moore said. 'It looks like he is a full month away.

'He is going to have to be patient because if he does anything daft to the injury now it will need pinning. But, so far he's done everything right and, while he's been out, he's done a lot of upper body work.'

Pope's last game for the Millers was the 3-0 loss at Aldershot at the beginning of April when he came off the bench to replace Craig McAllister. A few days later he broke his foot in training.
