RUFC - Moore 'no striker in the pipeline'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore says that he isn`t hopeful of getting in an experienced striker at this stage of the season.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the first pre-season friendly, last night, Moore said, 'It`s going to be difficult. At this stage of things we aren`t going to get a striker that`s going to get us twenty-five goals a season.

'We`ve got the young kid, Tom (Elliott), but is he going to find the back of the net for us? He`s hasn`t scored that many goals but I`m looking forward to working with him and hopefully I can make him a better striker than he is at the moment.`

A few weeks ago, Moore sent round a circular to all the clubs asking about players but he said he has heard very little from that, 'and,` he said, 'when we have they`ve all been eighteen year old kids.

'Maybe a couple of games into the season clubs will decide then and they might have had players who`ve fallen out or players who aren`t going to figure and perhaps then there might be something to be done.`
