'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore Post Sheffield United

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore said he thought today`s game against Sheffield United at Don Valley had been a good work out for his side.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the two-nil loss, Moore said, 'It was a more physical game than the other night against Leicester City.

'At the end of the game I thought we got a little sloppy. Both goals were sloppy, especially the first one when the lad was in the box on his own from a throw-in. But, if you`re going to make mistakes then it`s best to make them now.

'I don`t think there was two goals difference between the sides, but it`s a pre-season friendly and yes it would be nice to win it. I think today has shown how short we are in front of goal and it`s important that we try and get another striker on board. Tom (Elliot) was missing today and he would probably have given them one or two more problems with his strength and his pace. Though, I do think Tom will be OK, it`s just precautionary with this hamstring.`

Asked how he though the partnership of Ryan Cresswell and Nick Fenton was going Moore said, 'I think they`re doing alright. I thought Cress got a bit sloppy though he played very well first half, strong, dominating and won everything in the air and then he started believing he was a good player and that`s when he becomes sloppy, like silly back passes, getting caught in possession and, on another day, he`d have been sent off for bringing the lad down on the edge of the box. I`m going to have to be on his back and keep getting into his ribs because there`s no doubt about it, he`s a good player. But, he gets over confident and when he gets over confident he gets sloppy and he can cost you games.

'The most important thing is trying to get them fit, get them sharp and ready for the Lincoln game.
