RUFC - Tom hopes to be fit for Tamworth game

Rotherham United loanee, Tom Elliott was ruled out of the friendly with Sheffield United on Saturday after getting a knock in training. But, the tall Leeds United striker is hoping to be back shortly.

Speaking to the Official Site, the nineteen year old said, 'I was running in training and felt a sharp pain in my leg and stopped.

'I've spoken to the physio's at both Rotherham and Leeds and they said it's a small tear and I was gutted to miss the game against Sheffield United. Hopefully I will be back next Saturday for the friendly at Tamworth.'

After playing in the first friendly against Leicester City, Tom said, 'I think the Gaffer was happy with me and I was happy with the display. I thought Alfie and I played well together.

'My main aim is to get back to full fitness and be sharp for the first game of the season against Lincoln.'
