RUFC - Injuries mounting up

RUFC - Injuries mounting up

Rotherham United defender, Nick Fenton was taken off during the first half of the friendly with Alfreton Town last night with, what looks like, a calf injury.

Speaking after the two-nil loss, Manager, Ronnie Moore told the Official Site, 'Fenton stretched for the ball and it looks like he's done his calf. Tom Newey was on the bench with a hamstring problem so he couldn't be involved.

'Stephen Brogan came out of the game with a thigh strain, Greeny (Jamie Green) is struggling with his leg and Luke Ashworth got a knock to his temple.

'We're going down like nine pins at the moment.'

Why put someone who is injured on the bench? Surely one of the young lads could have gone instead

Probably because they're playing Stocksbridge tonight... I know what you're saying though, they could have found a trialist if they wanted to.

Yes, Chris. And, Ronnie has said more than once that he doesn't want a big squad - well, if we are going to get a lot of injuries and only a small squad it's to be hopes there's some loanees out there
