RUFC - What do we know about our next opponents...

Rotherham United are sending a team to play Stocksbridge Park Steels this evening.

Stocksbridge PS were formed in 1986 when two clubs, Stocksbridge Works FC and Stocksbridge Club Oxley Park Sports F.C merged.

In the late 80's and early 90's the club spent a lot of money on their Bracken Moor Stadium in order to aid the club to rise through the non-league system.

In 1993/4 Steels won the Premier Divison of the NCEL, but the ground improvements were deemed not good enough for them to take up their place in the Unibond League.

In 1995/6 Steels finally gained promotion to the Unibond League and have made steady progress since finishing eleventh in the Northern Premier League Premier Division last season.

Former Rotherham trainee, Gary Ingham, is assistant manager with Steels.

The kick-off this evening is 7.45pm and it is pay on the day.
