RUFC - Moore on Holden

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore, says that he is pleased to have signed Dean Holden from Shrewsbury today, after trying all week to get a right back in to cover for the injuries that seem to be mounting up for the Millers.

'With the two injuries that we have it`s been an absolute nightmare,` Moore told MillersPlayer.

'We don`t know if Fenners (Nick Fenton) will be able to play in the Lincoln game so, rather than take any chances, we`ve got Dean Holden in. The problem is that part of the deal is that he can`t play against Peterborough on Tuesday so, the way things are going, we`ll still be looking for a right back for then.

'I`ve worked with Dean at Oldham and he`s got good experience and knows what the game is all about. He`ll bring physical presence to the team along with his experience. He likes to get forward and he`s a good talker and a good organiser.

'What`s funny is that I spoke to David Raven who`s gone to Shrewsbury and actually taken Deans place, which I find astounding really.

'The deal`s for a month to start with but, you know, Tongey`s (Dale Tonge) going to be four or five months the way things are and John Mullins is going to be another week or ten days, so it may be that, if he comes in and does what we expect of him it may be a little bit longer.`

According to Shrews Manager, Graham Turner, Dean should be back with the Shrews before the Millers travel there to play on 4th September.
