'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Tom 'it's harder with Millers than Leeds!'

Rotherham United new boy, Tom Elliott says that the training regime at Rotherham United is a lot harder than it is at Leeds United!

Millers legend, Paul Warne, has been putting the players through their paces during pre-season and six foot plus striker, Elliott, on loan from Leeds until the New Year, was amazed by the hard work he`s had to put in since he`s been here.

'It`s a lot harder than Leeds,` the twenty-five year old told The Advertiser, 'we do play football as well but the running here is ridiculous! Don`t get me wrong, we did have running at Leeds but here it`s just a different level. Ronnie (Moore) wants to get the lads really fit so they can challenge for the league again.`

Talking about his loan move to the Millers, Tom, whose pre-season training was curtailed with a hamstring injury, said, 'I`ve been at Leeds since I was twelve and played under Denis Wise and Gary McAllister but when Simon Grayson came in he told me to go out and get some games. I`ve come here to impress and see what I can do. I was out on loan at Bury last season but only played a few times before I got injured. This time, Northampton wanted me but Rotherham is close to home and they got to the play-off final last season so they were more attractive to me.`

Talking about partnering Adam Le Fondre up front, Tom said, 'I know all about what he can do. Me and Le Fondre up front ain`t a bad partnership and hopefully I can get goals next to him and we`ll be banging them in for fun until January.`
