'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore post Lincoln

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore was delighted after his team beat Lincoln City in the first game of the season.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the win, Moore said, 'I think we deserved to win it. I was pleased with the lads today, they`ve all worked their socks off and you couldn`t ask any more from them.

'In the first half we passed it well and moved the ball well. I was pleased with the number of crosses we got in the box and what we need to do now is get on the end of them. We just allowed them in the game for ten minutes but, really, they had one shot and they scored from it. I was disappointed with the goal because we were attacking and it was just a long ball over the top and the lads come inside and got it in. But, praise for them because they kept having a go, kept going.

And Lawsy (Nicky Law) we need more from him like that because he`s got so much ability and for the goal he`s gone by the lad and dinked it up and it was nice to see a centre-half get on the end of it but I think Cresswell will get some goals for us, there`s no doubt about that because he`s strong and aggressive.

'We still need to work a little bit on the long throw because Geohaghon has a tremendous long throw and if we can get people on the end of it then it will be a useful weapon at this level.`
