'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore on Marshall and Elliott

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore, was struggling for players for last nights Carling Cup game against Peterborough and had to revert to putting winger, Marcus Marshall up front which resulted in the twenty year old scoring his first Millers' goal.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the defeat last night, Moore said, 'Marcus doesn`t like playing up front but, when we haven`t got anyone else to play there he`s got to do it.

'He took the goal really well and he`s shown if he really puts his mind to it he`s capable of scoring goals. But he`s got to believe that he can play there and I`m not too sure he does believe that and to me, if you`re asked to play there, then go and play and enjoy it. And, at his age he should be doing that.'

Marcus joined the Millers this summer from Blackburn Rovers after impressing in a long loan spell last season.

Many fans were wondering why striker Tom Elliott was missing from an already sparse squad and Moore said, 'Tom Elliott was playing. And then, around three o`clock we got a phone call saying his knee was sore and he couldn`t play but he`ll be OK for Saturday.'
