'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Cress 'what a feeling!'

Rotherham United skipper, Ryan Cresswell told The Advertiser that it was a 'great feeling` scoring the winning goal on Saturday against Lincoln at Don Valley.

A Rotherham United fan as a boy, leading the team out on Saturday was a dream come true for the twenty-two year old although he said he was a bit nervous.

'I had a few nerves before the game,` the former Bury central defender said, 'but it was a great feeling as I led the side out I just took it in my stride.`

Ryan had a loan spell with the Millers three years ago and said, 'I always thought I`d be back here at some stage and I`m just happy it`s come so soon. The club is on my doorstep and I know everything about it. Martin McIntosh and Chris Swailes were my heroes, along with Guy Branston. I used to watch them and think I want to be him. And, at the minute, I am!`

Speaking about his winning goal on Saturday, Ryan said, 'As soon as I saw the ball come over from Nicky Law, who`s a quality player, there was only one place it was going and that was in the back of the net.`
