'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore on Elliott

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore says there is a doubt about Tom Elliot playing on Saturday against Cheltenham, although he is hoping to change the players mind.

The tall nineteen year old joined the Millers in the summer on loan from Leeds United and has impressed when he's played. He pulled out of the recent cup game against Peterborough with a knee injury and says he is doubtful for the game tomorrow as he has a slight thigh strain.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Ronnie Moore is hoping that Elliott will be fit to play, saying, 'I think Tom could get through the game but we've got to try and convince Tom of that.

'He has to be right in his head, thinking he has to be one hundred per cent fit before he plays so we've got to try and change that thinking. It's near enough impossible for a professional footballer to be absolutely pain free before you play but with him only being a young lad he probably won't understand that.

'I think, a Tom Elliott at only three quarter pace would give Cheltenham a lot of problems. And even if we only get sixty minutes out of him then at least we will have had his presence up there which we won't have if we have to play Marshall or Warne.'
