'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition Manager

Rotherham United came back from being three-one down yesterday against Cheltenham Town to win six-four and opposition Manager, Mark Yates said he thought his side 'shot themselves in the foot.`

Speaking to Radio Gloucestershire after the defeat at Don Valley, Yates said, 'I`m delighted with the stuff that we are playing but we`ve got to defend better than we did today.

'I thought the penalty was really soft (Rotherham 'keeper Andy Warrington saved from Thomas) and it didn`t affect the players` like it should have done. It should have made them come out stronger but it affected us mentally and that ten minutes cost us the game.

'In the first half we were outstanding although the two goals they scored were great finishes but I think we dominated and easily looked the better team. If we continue to play how we did in the first half then I don`t think there will be many teams that will be able handle us.

'But, we`ve got to find the right balance between playing attacking football and not conceding at the other end.`
