RUFC - New Stadium Still on Schedule

Rotherham United's Commercial Director, Steve Coakley has stated today that the new stadium build is still on schedule.

With Millers fans beginning to worry a little as nothing seems to be happening on the old Guest and Chrimes site, which has been earmarked for the new stadium, Mr Coakley told The Star, that a 'heck of a lot of work' has been going on and that Chairman, Tony Stewart has been devoting huge amounts of time to the project.

'Just because people aren't hearing something every week doesn't mean it isn't progressing. We are being thorough and it will go up.'

It is expected that twelve thousand seater stadium will be started in the next few days after recently submitting plans to the Borough Council.

The club recently purchased the land adjoining the proposed site for the new ground which houses the former Gloystarne Warehouse and demolition work is to start on it shortly and it's been earmarked for stadium car parking.
