'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Alfie aims to play higher

Rotherham United striker and scorer of four goals against Cheltenham last Saturday, Adam Le Fondre said the dressing room, after the six-four win was mixed.

Speaking to Mark Clemmit of the Football League Podcast, while being heckled by Jason Taylor in the background, Alfie said, 'We were disappointed at having conceded four goals but for me, getting four goals, was obviously one of the best days of my career. And it was good because my brother and my dad were there to watch it.

'I feel I`m seeing the ball more than I did last season which is hopefully helping the team out more.`

Alfie was asked if he was aware of there being scouts in the crowd on Saturday and if he looked up could he see them, 'Not at Don Valley,` the former Rochdale and Stockport striker quipped, 'you`d need binoculars! Of course I think you`re aware that there`s always someone there watching but it doesn`t really bother me.

'Ronnie Moore says that no one has phoned up about me which is good for the club and it also keeps my mind on scoring goals. The way I`m playing and the goals I`m scoring can`t be going unnoticed and I`ve enough confidence in myself to know that I will play higher eventually.

'Rotherham are looking good this season and we are going for promotion.`
